On demand webinar: COPD risk slider

This webinar introduces the new COPD risk slider. The COPD risk slider is a tool which can be used easily by healthcare professionals in their normal 10-20 minute consultation to assess the risk of exacerbations in their COPD patients.

This webinar, chaired by Katherine Hickman (our PCRS Executive Chair), introduced the new PCRS/AZ COPD risk slider in November 2024 to mark World COPD Day. Katherine, along with guest speakers Darush Attar-Zadeh (Pharmacist) and Steve Holmes (GP) introduces the new COPD risk slider and provides a demonstration on how it can be used effectively within a consultation. 

The new COPD risk slider supports healthcare professionals and pharmacists to:

  • assess their COPD patients for risk of potential worsening of symptoms/exacerbations,
  • initiate conversations with their patients about their COPD,
  • make informed decisions on treatment and medication, and 
  • provide effective, and tailored, information and advice and guidance to reduce any exacerbation risk identified.
