PCRS Policy

How we do this?

• By making the case for quality standards to be realistic within NHS primary and community care because our members are actively working with patients in these settings.
• Having a long history as valued contributing members of guideline committees including NICE, SIGN and BTS that in turn influence quality improvement standards and schemes such as the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).
• By listening to a broad membership that includes professional groups from a wide NHS spectrum including: community nurses, GPs, occupational therapists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, primary care nurses, respiratory specialist nurses, pharmacists and physicians.
• By formulating a consensus and recommending a pragmatic approach to respiratory diagnostic or therapeutic needs when controversy exists or the external environment makes the ideal approach hard to achieve.
