Dive into our new educational tools this World Asthma Day
We are pleased to launch a set of educational tools on supporting people with asthma in the 21st century to coincide with World Asthma Day (7th May). The suite of resources includes animations, podcasts and an online learning module - we will also host a webinar on the 15th May focused on the GINA approach to managing asthma.
This year's World Asthma Day theme - Asthma Education Empowers - calls for greater awareness of the evidence on effective management of asthma. Our new asthma tools are a useful educational resource to help ensure healthcare professionals are equipped to provide reliable information and optimal treatment for their asthma patients.
Key learning brought to life
Our two animations bring essential asthma management education to life – watch two short videos on:
⏯️ Ensuring optimal treatment for asthma management
⏯️ Maintaining effective asthma treatment
The animations focus on ensuring patients with asthma receive the most suitable treatment for them and that they follow the correct treatment pathway.
Tune into our podcasts
We’ve produced two podcasts on:
🎧 Ensuring optimal treatment for asthma management
🎧 A patient perspective: Identifying the best asthma treatment
The episodes feature the perspectives of healthcare professionals (a pharmacist, a nurse and a GP) and a patient - and will cover the importance of patient knowledge when it comes to ensuring optimal asthma treatment.
Learn online at your leisure
Our asthma online learning module is exclusively available for PCRS members (if you're not a member you can join today). The interactive module takes you through the GINA approach to managing asthma and using this, in collaboration with patients, to ensure and maintain optimal treatment for people with asthma.
Work through the educational videos and multiple choice questions and when you complete the module, you will receive a certificate for your professional portfolio.
This resource is available to members via their PCRS dashboard.
