Change at the top of PCRS
PCRS is currently advertising for a new CEO following Anne Smith’s decision to step down as Chief Executive (CE) of the Primary Care Respiratory Society (PCRS) on 1 May 2020. Anne has managed the activities of PCRS with great passion, foresight, and attention to detail and after nearly 16 years has decided it is time to step back from the responsibility of being a CE to enjoy a different work/life balance.
The PCRS has grown and evolved into a highly successful multidisciplinary organisation speaking with authority on behalf of primary and integrated care in respiratory medicine during Anne’s tenure. Working with the PCRS executive, committees and trustees Anne has guided PCRS through changes and challenges, increasing our role in influencing policy, setting standards in respiratory medicine as well as maintaining and developing our very active educational programme.
Martyn Partridge, Chair PCRS Trustees says ‘Whilst we are sad to see Anne go, it creates the opportunity for the PCRS Executive and Trustees to think about the future development of the Society. We are confident that PCRS will continue to grow and work for the benefit of those with respiratory disease.’
Carol Stonham Chair PCRS executive says, ‘Anne has done a superb job nurturing and cajoling the many members who have served on committees during her tenure. She will be missed enormously but I can reassure all involved that a hands-on executive Committee and a very committed Board of Trustees will work closely with Anne to ensure a very smooth handover’.
There is now a great opportunity for a new individual to work with the enthusiastic and passionate healthcare experts in PCRS to have an impact on the care available to respiratory patients. Please forward the advertisement to anyone you know who may be interested in the role.
