Join a committee
PCRS trustees and executive wish to encourage active involvement from all of our members and we are continually seeking nominations from members to join our committees. Being a committee member is an excellent chance for members to become more involved and ensure that your views and aspirations for the organisation are included in our annual plans and activities. What have you got to lose?
Who can join a committee?
All formal members are eligible for election to our sub-committees and the executive. Those with a special interest in particular areas of PCRS may wish to become involved in one of our sub-committees whilst others who would like to be more involved in deciding our future direction may wish to be considered for election to the executive.
How much time is involved?
As a member of one of our committees you are usually expected to attend two meetings per year in addition to attending our annual conference. You will also be required to participate in the occasional teleconference and to be involved in regular email correspondence. You should expect to spend no more than 2-3 hours per week on PCRS activities.
What's in it for you?
As a member of one of our committees you will be able to influence the future decisions of PCRS and get involved in planning all aspects of the Society's business plan. You will meet new colleagues and make new friends with professionals who share your interest in the management of respiratory disease in primary care. You will be introduced to well respected and senior professionals from other professional organisations and the pharmaceutical industry and will collaborate with these organisations to help us develop and national programmes and policy. This position is voluntary but standard class travel expenses and locum costs are covered.
