Gina Eyles
Gina has been a paediatric nurse for 27 years with a wide range of experience in neurosurgery, paediatric intensive care, children's hospices, NICU, childrens community nursing, and childrens complex needs. In more recent years, she has specialised in paediatric asthma, particularly setting up an innovation to address health inequalities. By holding asthma clinics in schools, in deprived areas, access was dramatically improved with two-thirds of the children reviewed either never having had an asthma review or not having one for many years yet choosing to attend through the school. Training for school staff was also included. The model has since cascaded nationally and in 2022 was a finalist for both the HSJ and GP awards. Until very recently, Gina was also the clinical co-lead on the asthma bundle for Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
Gina is currently commencing 2 new roles at East Anglian Childrens Hospice and also teaching at the University of East Anglia on the level 7 Independent Prescribing Module. Her particular academic interests other than childhood asthma are health inequalities and transition.
Her passions (other than her wonderful children) are
swimming throughout the year along the Norfolk coastline and cooking.
