Events

Primary Care Respiratory Society UK has a long track record for providing excellent respiratory educational events aimed at supporting those working in respiratory care in a primary or community care setting to keep up to date with the latest clinical development, develop their professional and leadership skills and to network and meet like minded clinicians from across a wide range of disciplines.

Primary Care Respiratory Society UK Annual Conference

Our annual flagship conference provides an array of educational opportunities for all those who either commission or deliver respiratory care in a primary or community care setting:

  • Patient-centred, essential clinical updates from leading experts
  • Key service delivery and commissioning sessions, looking at how we can bring about change in practice
  • Cutting edge and relevant research presentations (including posters and oral presentations), in conjunction with our flagship international academic journal npj Primary Care Respiratory Medicine
  • Thought-provoking, entertaining keynote plenaries
  • Practical workshops

Respiratory Clinical Leadership Programme

Available exclusively to members of PCRS-UK, the respiratory clinical leadership programme offers a rolling 3 year programme of workshops to help give you the tools, knowledge and skills to drive improvements for patients with respiratory disease in your area. We run two residential workshops (Friday lunchtime - Saturday afternoon) each year. Each workshop is a standalone event with a focus on hot clinical topics and policy or guidance changes, as well as teaching essential professional skills such as understanding your team or your own leadership style, as well as one or more relevant management techniques such as making a business case, mapping your stakeholders, pitching your case for change or evaluating data.

The workshops, designed and delivered by inspirational respiratory clinical leaders, are clinically relevant, use real case studies and give you time to put your learning into practice in a safe supportive environment. You will leave the workshop with practical actions and knowing that you have a network of support from the experts on the faculty and your fellow participants.

By participating in the workshops regularly over a 2-3 year period you will build your breadth and depth of skills and knowledge.

PCRS-UK Network Meetings

We run annual events to bring current and future leaders of our affiliated groups together and to bring together academic primary care respiratory researchers.

Primary Care Respiratory Academy Roadshow Events

The Primary Care Respiratory Academy is an exciting new long-term educational initiative developed by PCRS-UK, in association with Pulse and Nursing in Practice. Through the Primary Care Respiratory Academy we offer an annual programme of roadshow events across the UK.
